What is the Older Adults Home Modification

 

Program (OAHMP)

 

A program for older adults to improve safety and help them age safely in place, through essential, no-cost repairs.

 

 

Who is eligible for this program?

 

Homeowner OR the spouse of the homeowner

Other family members are not eligible

Lives in the home

At least 62 years of age

Annual household income is below 80% of local area median income (AMI)

Housing structure is good fit for OAHMP o Homeowner can benefit from home modifications to improve accessibility;

home is structurally sound

Examples of some types of repairs:

 

Installing grab bars, handrails, vertical rails

Installing entry and threshold ramps

Modifying tubs and showers

Removing tripping hazards

Installing smoke and CO2 detectors

Improving interior and exterior lighting

And more!
